Pro Athletes Outreach and Baseball Chapel

I decided to come back to Tampa this weekend in order to attend a conference for baseball wives and girlfriends hosted by PAO and Baseball Chapel. I was pleasantly surprised at the number of women who attended and how enjoyable the conference actually was. Although I would consider myself very spiritual, I couldn’t tell you that I identify largely with any one religion. Without focusing on denominations, this conference recommends that you put God at the core of your life and relationships and translates it in such a way that most could identify.
I had an incredible opportunity to meet an amazing group of women that know exactly what I am going through and in most cases have been through much more than I. There was a nice mixture of veteran wives and rookie wives as well as wives that have children or are pregnant and wives that are still waiting for the right time to have kids. Once we all started talking, there was this undeniable sense of relief that came over me. It was as if a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders and I thought, “Wow – there really are women out there that know what I am going through. I am not in this alone at all.”
After years of trying to explain my situation to others that are not in the world of baseball, I feel like I have finally found a group of women that I can talk to, albeit they have been right in front of me the entire time. It wasn’t until a friend of mine recommended the conference, that I was even aware it existed. I believe that everything happens for a reason and perhaps it was God’s divine intervention, but she and I have become much closer now and thanks to her I am now aware of Baseball Chapel and the PAO.
Thanks Breanna! 🙂

Aw, thank you for coming with me!! If I didn’t have anyone to go with me I probably wouldn’t have went. Hopefully it is in God’s plans to put us in the same place for at least part of this season!!
